The problem
A UK surveying and trades firm was stuck on Sales Igniter. That tool could not run what the business actually does: chasing quotes, booking access, tracking jobs, follow-up, and the work that starts after someone pays. Customers were falling through between enquiry and payment, and again between payment and delivery.
The process is specific. Level 1 to 3 surveys, access chase, inspection, report delivery, SLAs, and trades.
The fork
The plan on the table was to leave Sales Igniter for Salesforce. Higher monthly seats, forever, plus a £15,000 quote to customise it.
I told them to scrap Salesforce. The workflows are unique enough that Salesforce would not fit cleanly. Build a custom CRM instead.
What shipped
A one-time £3,500 custom build, plus a small monthly maintenance fee. They own the software. In production since 2026.
Leads from Pinlocal, Compare My Move, ReallyMoving, Get a Surveyor, the website, and the phone land in one pipeline. After a quote, timed follow-up runs until they pay, go lost, or opt out. Payment by Stripe or bank transfer creates the job. Survey and trade jobs run through to delivery, with SLA clocks and one inbox for email, SMS, and WhatsApp.
